Pressure Ulcer on coccyx

The primary cause of pressure ulcers is unrelieved pressure. Any area of tissue that lies just over a bone is more likely to form a pressure ulcer, such as the coccyx or “tailbone.” For this reason those who sit for extended periods of time are more susceptible to developing pressure ulcers on the coccyx.
